Me Seven Random Facts

Posted on Dec 2nd, 2007 by Lauren : mammal Lauren

If you are reading this because I tagged you, this is how it works. Take time to enjoy it:

1. Link to the person's blog who tagged you.

2. Post these rules on your blog.

3. List seven random and/or weird facts about yourself.

4. Tag seven random [?] people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.

5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by posting a comment on their blog.

1. I am very easily amused.

2. Though I'm not so good at it, I love to play with accents. I think it actually brings out aspects of me character that don't usually get expression.

3. I love that limey green colour, the bright one, like a cross section of lime held up to the sun.

4. I want to create a board game in which one self-assigns and is assigned personality stereotypes and characteristics, and then in the process of the game fiddles with, retunes, fiddles with again, questions, wonders about, expands, explodes, and eventually steps aside from their identity/identifications/self-definitions. You never know who you'll end up being.

5. I'm a yoga teacher, but I can't do what he's doing. (See above.) Not yet.

6. I was on the television show Romper Room when I was I dunno, maybe four, and, live show I think, I raised my hand and when called on said, "I have to tinkle." I was also on Sesame Street in one of those musical travelogues they did. This one was of a sandcastle contest in Ipswich, Massachusetts, and my friend Lisa and I had built a giant, sleepy hippopotamus. Lisa's sister saw it while she was babysitting. The rest of us never did.

7. I sometimes sing myself a lullaby at bedtime.

Twas Corinna (Time to Shine) who tagged me.
I haven't tagged anyone yet. I may or may not. Just because it seems like this has made the rounds... buuut, if you're reading this and haven't yet been tagged, shout out to me and I'll gladly get you.

Accents are cool, not to mention speaking a different language, it totally transforms your body language and aspects of your personality.

Sounds like you'd appreciate the work of Linda Montano, founder of art/life institute. She used to do retreats at my monastery.

One of her longer performance pieces was a seven year chakra jouney. For the first year she spoke mostly in a French accent, wore mostly red, listened for an hour a day (in a red room) to a continuous middle C…   For each successive year-chakra, a new accent, the next color, and tone…

Linda's ability to express diversity with her whole being is astounding. As the abbot of the monastery once noted, ” Doing dokusan [private interview] with her is a trip! ” The totality of her character taking was pretty absolute.

It may very well be, Lauren, that I haven't seen you since the sixties, or early seventies.

Yes, I got that really strongly in Italy this summer; if I, as an English speaker, want to give Italian my best shot I actually have to shake down my very englishness and allow some re-shaping or something. That is a cool realization.

Also fun on YouTube to see a recent wave of attempts to convey British regional accents. This one's a bit uncouth but he did a good job in his funny way http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH_kOjsXakM

Blimey! I digs that limey green color too…

It's why I chose a small peridot gem for my wedding ring – I love the green that seemed lit from within. Like the color of brand new shoots of grass as winter breaks.

Well Gina, I was gonna write that I expect Lauren to post a picture of herself when she can do that move, wearing the same clothes as the man in the photo. But that would have been rude, so I'm not gonna write that :P
